The Muslim Law Student Association (MLSA) at ASU Law is hosting a Ramadan Fast-A-Thon + Iftar Dinner on Monday, March 16 at 6:00 PM in Room 544.
Ramadan is the holy month observed by Muslims around the world, during which Muslims fast each day from sunrise to sunset. Beyond abstaining from food and water, the month is meant to cultivate reflection, gratitude, and a stronger sense of community. With that, we are inviting the ASU Law community to learn more about this tradition by trying to fast for the day and then join us in the evening as we gather to break the fast together over dinner.
The goal is simply to offer an opportunity to experience what Ramadan is like for your Muslim peers at the law school. We hope the evening will be a chance for ASU Law students, faculty, staff, and members of the Arizona legal community to support one another, ask thoughtful questions, enjoy good food and conversation, and build relationships across the many backgrounds represented at ASU Law.
Fasting is certainly not a requirement, and we recommend consulting a medical professional before attempting to fast if you have any health concerns or take medication. You are very welcome to come and enjoy a delicious Middle Eastern dinner regardless.
We hope to see you there!
