This full week program is for students interested in representing Pechanga Band of Indians tribal members in the drafting and execution of Indian wills and health care powers of attorney. The program takes place over fall break, October 14 to 18, 2024.

Schedule: On Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., students learn about statutes impacting estate planning in Indian Country, about wills and health care powers of attorney that conform to these statutes, and about interviewing and counseling clients. Late Wednesday afternoon, students travel to the Pechanga Band Reservation near Temecula, California.

On Thursday and Friday, students participate in a two-day (all day) estate planning clinic for the Pechanga Band of Indians. During the clinic, students meet individually with tribal members to determine their estate planning wishes and then draft documents for the member’s review and execution.
