Native Nations have the inherent right to govern their own lands and resources. However, centuries of colonialism and resource extraction have created many barriers for tribes to exercise their inherent sovereignty regarding energy resources. Join ELS and NALSA for a discussion with Professors Troy Rule and Pilar Thomas on what tribal energy sovereignty is, how it is impacted by the history of colonialism in the United States, and the work being done by tribes to empower tribal energy sovereignty.
