Mediators are taught to be neutral. But what if perfect neutrality isn't possible, or even desirable?
As part of Day 3 of ADR Week, Debora Gamma Lima takes on one of the field’s most debated ideas. She’ll make the case for compassion, trust, and self-awareness as assets to impartiality rather than threats to it.
In coordination with the American Bar Association's Mediation Week 2026, the Lodestar Dispute Resolution Center and Student Dispute Resolution Group (DRG) are hosting ASU Law ADR Week.
ADR Week will welcome experts in mediation, negotiation, and related fields to speak about ADR and the skills needed to be a successful professional. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is a wide range of dispute resolution processes and techniques that assist parties in reaching agreements outside of litigation. Less than 10% of cases ever reach litigation, so settlement techniques are imperative to successfully represent your clients.
Participants who attend 4 out of 5 days of ADR Week will receive a Certificate of Completion. Please view the registration page to view ADR Week's panel of speakers.
