Join NALSA and NLG, in collaboration with UArizona NLG and NILSA, for a Public Comment Workshop focused on the ongoing border wall construction affecting the Tohono O’odham Nation and surrounding lands.

Professor Derrick Beetso will begin with an overview of the federal public comment process, including its purpose, how public comments can inform agency decision-making, and what makes a comment meaningful and substantive. Student organizers will then provide background on the current border wall dispute and the opportunity to submit comments to the Department of Homeland Security.

Participants will work through the current public comment opportunity with Professor Beetso and discuss the types of information, concerns, and supporting materials that can be incorporated into an effective comment. The workshop is intended to give law students and community members practical tools for meaningfully participating in the public comment process.

Please note: This workshop will be recorded.
